Some nerds were so mad about that “sexism in video games” Kickstarter that they made a competing series to prove that somehow an industry almost entirely staffed by men that makes products intended for men is actually discriminatory against men. This is what happens when women try to voice their opinion on how society treats them: hordes of men feel unreasonably threatened and scramble around like idiots trying to bring the discourse back to a place where men are in complete control, either through harrassment and threats of violence or by making some garbage like this. If you hear anyone trying to pull this embarrassing bullshit, do your duty as a decent human being and rub some dog turds on their face and neck and maybe pee on them too

HAHAHAHA

NO

Well, I read through it and I can actually agree with some of the stereotypes and things that are listed. Do I think that video games are bad fro men? Not neccessarily, but I do think it makes a good point in the sense that yes stereotypes hurt everyone, women and men.

So, I can somewhat understand where this is coming from.  I mainly just don’t agree with putting men or women up against gender standards and expecting them to meet them. *shrugs*

I looked through the tropes and I have to say I agree with a few of them.

  • The Musclebeast:Why are all men 7 foot roided up killing machines? (That’s a good question.)
  • Mr Emotionless McStonefaced (There’s always one and he has such a saaaaaaaaaad back story or some malarkey like that)
  • Cannon Fodder (Hmmm? You mean that character that’s just there to die? Yeah, I’ve noticed they are mostly men. Well, stop stuffing video games full of male characters and maybe we can add some female characters to the cannon fodder.)
  • The Fat Comedic Sidekick (WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE FAT?!)
  • Men Are Always The Heroic Ones: Pressuring modern day men into being heroic alpha males. This potentially sets a standard men can’t obtain. (…I suppose yes, but how many men actually go out of their way to be heroic? Actually how many PEOPLE actually do that? :\)
  • The “Average Joe” As The Bad Guy, And The “Macho Man” As The Hero. (Hmmmm. Idk…I thought recently there had been more of an average joe kind of thing in video games, but I could be wrong.)
  • Men As Sex Symbols (Your point? Wait…how often does that happen? Wait…what?)
  • Double Standards -Why is it okay to see women killing men, yet the other way around is met with criticism? (Yeah, why can’t men kill women? Well, might because in real life this does happen a lot and you don’t really hear that much about women killing men? It meets the double standard thing so I want it discussed, personally I kind of have been waiting to see a male character kill off a female character because COME ON!!!)
  • Sexuality Stereotypes or “All Gay Men Are Flamboyant” - Or a gay man’s sexuality is his entire character!: At the risk of opening a whole new can of worms, it’d be nice to see sexuality expressed in a more natural, less forced manner. (THANK YOU. I agree with this one most, but that really doesn’t get you guys off the hook.)

Well, I agree with some and some I don’t see it but I could be falling back on prejudice myself. I’m not all for this project but I can be open enough to say they do bring up some good points.  I’m interested to see where both projects go.
